With Hinder’s third album, the Oklahoma quintet breaks from their post-grunge trappings to create party anthems and lighter-hoisting arena rawk. All American Nightmare sounds like a tailor-made soundtrack for biker-themed drama; maybe not the classics like Easy Rider or The Wild Angels, but more contemporary works like 2007’s Wild Hogs or the Sons Of Anarchy television series. “2 Sides of Me” recalls recording effects from the ‘90s by opening with a mammoth guitar riff that suddenly stops to make way for distorted bullhorn vocals. The title-track flirts with Kid Rock-inspired Southern rock trimmed with the kind of keep-it-simple rhymes that might get an approving thumbs-up from Uncle Kracker, while the evocative “Hey Ho” unleashes opinionated anti hip-hop lyrics over Nickelback-esque balladry. Fans of Sammy Hagar-era Van Halen will find familiarity in “Striptease,” a commercial radio insta-hit that harks back to Black Oak Arkansas or Aerosmith. Of the five bonus tunes on the deluxe version (three are demos of album tracks), the confectionary “Good Life” proves to be the most catchy and festive.

Create New Memories with ALL AMERICAN NIGHTMARE (5 stars)
In my younger days, I was a far greatly listener of heavy metal than I am today, but, every now and then, who doesn’t want to pitch every adult contemporary ‘rock’ album out with the trash in favor of something that has greater edge and harder bite? Hinder’s ALL AMERICAN NIGHTMARE fits my modest bill, though I know that there’s much heavier stuff out there. It works for me, and, if you’re reading the review, then it perhaps work

O YEAH!!! (5 stars)
This album is absolutely amazing!! It makes you want to get a little crazy, but in a good way!! I love Hinder's singing and they are even better in concert. I saw them this summer and they sang their new songs that are on this album and it truly made me not want to wait for it to come out!!! If you like good new rock, you will love this album!! Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do!!

Some good songs but.... (3 stars)
I began liking the album with it starting out but as it progressed I could not overlook the country themes, and hinder IS NOT about country so I am not pleased with this musical element in this album, hinder is rock, not country.

Hinder began crafting cocky, raucous post-grunge in the early 2000s, when Oklahoma City residents Joe Garvey and drummer Cody Hanson found Austin Winkler singing cover songs at a college party. The three formed the nucleus of Hinder, and the group started landing gigs opening locally for such bands as Theory of a Deadman.
