Rearviewmirror – Greatest Hits 1991-2003 – Pearl JamOur ReviewPearl Jam turned out to be the most versatile hard rock band from the 1990s. Their first three albums, Ten, Vs. and Vitalogy, formed a molten core of hard rock anthems (“Alive,” “Rearviewmirror,” “Not for You”) and stirring ballads (“Black,” “Immortality”) that established the group as the dominant force on radio, MTV and in the arenas. However, even in these earliest times, the group stopped making videos and began pursuing their own aggressive experimental side, losing the casual fans and emboldening their base. This collection contains several remixes by the band’s main producer Brendan O’Brien that strip the songs of their initial gloss and serve as a well-selected overview of their first twelve years. Rockers and ballads are separated into two sets. Overall, one can still hear the band’s evolution album to album as each set follows chronologically. Thankfully several important non-LP cuts (either singles or soundtrack contributions) like “State of Love and Trust” and “Last Kiss,” are included alongside quirky tracks such as “Yellow Ledbetter” and “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town,” and band staples like “Jeremy,” “Daughter,” and “Even Flow.”Customer ReviewsI'd Like To Buy A Clue As To Why... On a lighter note, it's great that Pearl Jam's Greatest Hit Collaboration is a 2 disc set, and the way the rockers are on the first CD and the ballads are on the se Shockingly Amazing (5 stars) I just bought Pearl Jam's self-titled album and i thought it was great but then I started listening to these songs and its almost on another level Pearl Jam never ceases to amaze me awesome (5 stars) its awesome because it pearl jam and because pearl jam is the best grunge band BiographyFormed: 1990 in Seattle, WAGenre: Rock Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s Pearl Jam rose from the ashes of Mother Love Bone to become the most popular American rock & roll band of the '90s. After Mother Love Bone's vocalist, Andrew Wood, overdosed on heroin in 1990, guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament assembled a new band, bringing in Mike McCready on lead guitar and recording a demo with Soundgarden's Matt Cameron on drums. Thanks to future Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons, the demo found its way to a 25-year-old San Diego surfer named Eddie Vedder, who overdubbed...
