That said, it's not completely awful, it's just bad from a group who you know can do better. Truly disappointed, though I can't say I'm surprised. What happened to the Small Town Kid? (2 stars) From Denton, TX and naturally a Eli Young Band fan since the beginning. Really disappointed their music has turned to this record label controlled substance after the loyal following they developed through their authentic red dirt sound and lyrics. Will continue to support even though the original Small Town Kid seems to be gone. R.I.P. Eli Young Band (1 star) With the release of their last album, the Eli Young Band was shot in the stomach but could've still possibly recovered. With the release of this, they've now fully bled out and died.
