Get Familiar (5 stars)
All this bitching and whinning. This is a SOLID debet, from a VERY young man at the time. Old yes, but NEW to ITunes. And for the anal criticism from our english major... how many jamaican tracks are there that are truely original? Every artist today uses the same music track as the next, look into greensleeves releases to illustrate this point. What better way to honor the father of reggae (and Damian) than to use his tracks with new beats

All Hale Damian! (4 stars)
Yo I'm a teenager and none of my friends listen to reggae, but i can't get enough of it. Damian Marley is so awesome. He is easily in my top three favorit artists. If you like the stuff on this album check out the songs more justice, and catch a fire, their soooo awesome. Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley RULES!

Great first album! (5 stars)
This album may be new to iTunes, but it was Damian's first release back in '96. His brother, Stephen, assists in the writing and singing of many tracks and he also produced the album. Many songs are also Bob Marley tracks - reworked and remixed. It's a solid first album and better than his second release, Halfway Tree, in my opinion. Stephen's raspy vocals and Damian's slick dancehall style compliment each other well. These two have worked

Biography

Born: July 21, 1978 in Kingston, Jamaica
Genre: Reggae
Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

At the age of 13, he formed his first band, the Shepherds, which also included the son of Third World's Cat Coore and the daughter of Freddie McGregor; the group even opened up the 1992 Reggae Sunsplash festival. By 1994, Damian was working on his own solo project, and with the help of his father's label, Tuff Gong, he recorded Mr. Marley. Also lending a familial air to the sessions was...
